NIGERIA’S Super Falcons could receive a record $2 million if they win the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), following a landmark increase in prize money announced by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
CAF President Patrice Motsepe unveiled the enhanced financial package during the CAF Global Conference held in Johannesburg, South Africa, describing it as part of the continental body’s continued commitment to strengthening women’s football across Africa.
The record prize marks one of the most significant financial incentives ever introduced for the women’s continental championship and is expected to boost competition among participating nations.
Falcons Target Another Continental Crown
The Super Falcons will enter the tournament in Morocco among the leading contenders, carrying the confidence of defending champions after lifting the previous WAFCON title.
