THE Federal Government has begun preparations for the 2027 budget and plans to present the proposal to the National Assembly before the end of 2026.
Minister of State for Budget, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, disclosed this on Wednesday while briefing State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
“We are working on the 2027 budget, and our intention is to present it before the end of the year,” Uzoka-Anite said.
The planned presentation would give lawmakers time to examine the government’s spending proposals, revenue projections and economic priorities before the 2027 fiscal year begins.
Meanwhile, the government has yet to disclose the proposed budget’s total size, expected revenue, projected deficit or allocations to key sectors. Those details are expected to emerge as preparations advance.
