Governor Extends Eid Greetings to Muslims
DELTA State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has felicitated with Muslims in Delta State and across Nigeria on the occasion of the Eid al-Adha celebration, urging them to use the period to pray for national peace, unity and development.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor described Eid-El-Kabir as a season that reflects the values of sacrifice, compassion and devotion to God.
He encouraged Muslim faithful to embrace the spiritual lessons of the celebration while promoting love and peaceful coexistence within society.
Call for Charity and Support for the Vulnerable
Governor Oborevwori urged Muslims to sustain the Islamic tradition of almsgiving, especially to the poor and vulnerable members of society.
According to him, extending support to those in need remains one of the core principles of Islam and an important pathway toward strengthening social harmony.
The governor also encouraged Nigerians to dedicate their time and resources toward humanitarian causes and community support, particularly during periods of economic and social challenges.
Appeal for National Unity and Tolerance
The governor stressed the need for peaceful coexistence among citizens regardless of religious or ethnic differences.
He called on Nigerians to promote tolerance, understanding and unity during the festive season and beyond, expressing optimism that collective prayers and commitment to nation-building would help advance peace and sustainable development in the country.
Oborevwori wished Muslims a peaceful and fulfilling Eid celebration and urged them to celebrate responsibly while reflecting on the values of faith, sacrifice and love for humanity.
