Delta Assembly Speaker Hails Gbaramatu Monarch’s New Niger Delta Role

THE Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, has congratulated His Royal Majesty, King Oboro Gbaraun II, JP, the Pere of Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, on his inauguration as Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Institute for Niger Delta Studies (INDS), Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State.
In a goodwill message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, Guwor described the appointment as well-deserved.
He said the new position reflects the monarch’s leadership, wisdom and commitment to the development of the Niger Delta.
According to the Speaker, the appointment adds another honour to the monarch’s record of service. He also said it highlights King Gbaraun II’s character, nobility and sense of purpose.
Guwor expressed confidence that the monarch would help the institute achieve greater impact under his leadership.
He noted that King Gbaraun II’s experience and deep understanding of the Niger Delta would strengthen the institute’s efforts to fulfil its mandate.
The Speaker also wished the monarch a successful tenure. He extended the goodwill on behalf of his family, the people of Warri South West Constituency and the Delta State House of Assembly.
Guwor said he looked forward to the monarch using the new responsibility to contribute further to the development and advancement of the Niger Delta region.
