Delta Pilgrims Offer Prayers For Tinubu, Oborevwori During Hajj

Delta Pilgrims Hold Special Prayer Session in Saudi Arabia
MUSLIM pilgrims from Delta State participating in the ongoing Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia have offered special prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori during activities marking the Day of Arafat.
The prayer session took place at Mount Arafat, regarded as one of the holiest sites in Islam and the spiritual climax of the annual pilgrimage.
The pilgrims also used the occasion to pray for peace, national stability, and continued development in Nigeria.
Pilgrims Board Praises APC Primary Victories
Speaking after the prayers, Chairman of the Delta State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Auwalu Tukur, congratulated President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori on their victories in the recently concluded All Progressives Congress primaries.
Tukur urged Nigerians to continue supporting the administration of President Tinubu, especially in ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity and strengthen national unity.
He also cautioned against religious extremism, stressing that violence and intolerance contradict the teachings of Islam.
Oborevwori Commended for Religious Inclusiveness
The pilgrims’ leader commended Governor Oborevwori for promoting religious harmony and inclusive governance in Delta State.
According to him, the governor has demonstrated fairness toward residents irrespective of religious or ethnic background while also advancing infrastructure and human capital development projects across the state.
Tukur argued that another mandate for the governor in 2027 would allow ongoing development programmes to continue uninterrupted.
Call for Unity Ahead of 2027
The Delta pilgrims also called on residents of the state to remain united in the interest of peace and development.
Tukur assured that Muslims and non-indigenes living in Delta State would continue contributing positively to the growth and stability of the state.
He further appreciated the governor’s support for Muslim communities, particularly the distribution of rams during the Eid-El-Kabir celebration.
The pilgrims concluded the session with prayers for the success of the APC and its candidates in the 2027 general elections.
