Mulade Emerges NDC Candidate for 2027 Poll
ENVIRONMENTAL rights advocate and peace campaigner, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, has emerged as the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Warri Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general election.
Mulade secured victory in the party’s primary election conducted on May 29 in Delta State, earning the mandate to fly the party’s flag in the forthcoming contest for the House of Representatives seat.
Following the declaration of the results, the NDC candidate expressed appreciation to party delegates, supporters, and stakeholders whose votes and support contributed to his emergence.
Candidate Thanks Delegates, Supporters
In a statement issued after the primary election, Mulade described his victory as a reflection of the confidence and trust reposed in him by members of the party and constituents across the federal constituency.
He noted that the outcome of the exercise demonstrated the desire of the people for responsive leadership and a representation model anchored on grassroots participation.
According to him, the mandate carries a significant responsibility to advance the interests of the people and ensure that the constituency receives effective representation at the national level.
“I deeply appreciate all those who participated in the electoral process and stood by this aspiration. Their support and confidence remain invaluable,” he stated.
Pledges Inclusive and People-Centred Representation
The NDC candidate pledged to pursue policies and initiatives that would address developmental concerns within the constituency if elected during the general election.
He said his focus would be on promoting good governance, community development, and inclusive representation that reflects the interests of all segments of the constituency.
Mulade maintained that the victory belonged not only to him but also to residents who believe in accountable leadership and sustainable development.
Calls for Unity Among Ethnic Groups
Emphasising the importance of social cohesion, Mulade urged the major ethnic nationalities in the constituency—the Ijaw, Itsekiri, and Urhobo—to continue working together for peace and progress.
He argued that collaboration among the various communities remains essential to addressing common developmental challenges and strengthening the constituency’s political voice.
According to him, the future of Warri Federal Constituency depends on unity, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to development.
Focus Shifts to General Election
With the primary election concluded, Mulade called on party members and supporters to remain united as preparations begin for the next phase of the electoral process.
He stressed that sustaining victory would require collective effort, discipline, and a common vision for the future of the constituency.
Political observers believe the emergence of Mulade adds a new dimension to the evolving contest for the Warri Federal Constituency seat as political parties continue to position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
