Traditional Ruler Seeks Deeper Corporate Commitment To Asaba Development

Asagba Calls for Stronger Private Sector Role in Asaba’s Growth
Monarch Advocates Partnership Between Palace and Businesses
THE Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, SAN, has called on business owners and entrepreneurs operating within Asaba Kingdom to take more active responsibility in advancing the socio-economic development of the community.
The monarch made the appeal while receiving members of the private business community led by the Chief Executive Officer of Maria Mac Anthony Electronics, Mr. Anthony Ifebuilo, during a visit to the royal palace.
Businesses Must Contribute Beyond Profit
Speaking during the engagement, the Asagba stressed that businesses benefiting from the economic opportunities in Asaba should also see themselves as partners in the town’s development.
According to him, sustainable development requires deliberate collaboration between the private sector and the community, particularly in areas such as youth empowerment, education, healthcare, infrastructure, environmental sanitation, and social welfare.
The monarch noted that genuine progress would only be achieved when corporate organisations and residents work collectively toward improving living conditions across the kingdom.
Call for Ethical Business Practices
Prof. Azinge further encouraged entrepreneurs to uphold ethical business standards, create employment opportunities for indigenes, and support initiatives capable of strengthening community stability and prosperity.
He reaffirmed the palace’s commitment to maintaining peace, preserving cultural values, and providing an enabling environment for businesses to thrive in Asaba.
The monarch also commended Maria Mac Anthony Electronics for identifying with the palace and contributing positively to the community, urging other entrepreneurs to emulate similar acts of civic responsibility and patriotism.
Business Community Pledges Continued Support
Earlier, Mr. Anthony Ifebuilo said the delegation’s visit was motivated by their desire to reconnect with the traditional institution and contribute meaningfully to the development of Asaba Kingdom.
He described Asaba as the foundation of his personal and business growth, noting that the town had supported him from childhood through his entrepreneurial journey.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Ifebuilo assured the monarch of the business community’s continued commitment to supporting developmental initiatives within the kingdom.
