Governor Orders Fresh Administrative Realignment
GOVERNOR Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has approved the redeployment of Permanent Secretaries across key ministries, departments and agencies in Delta State as part of efforts to strengthen governance, improve administrative efficiency and enhance service delivery within the state public service.
The redeployment was announced in a circular issued by the Office of the Head of Service in Asaba and signed by the Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji.
According to the circular, the changes affect several senior civil servants occupying strategic positions across government institutions.
Key Ministries Affected by the Redeployment
Among the affected officials, Dr. (Mrs.) Charity Ehimen-Babigha was moved from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Renewal to the Office of the Head of Service, while Mr. Chukwuka Wilson was redeployed from the Office of the Head of Service to the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Renewal.
Similarly, Dr. (Mrs.) Gloria Patrick-Ferife was transferred from the Ministry of Technical Education to the Ministry of Health, while Dr. Okwunze Anthony C. was posted to the Ministry of Technical Education.
Mr. Anino Tetsola was also returned to the Ministry of Housing, where he will continue overseeing State Protocol Matters.
Strategic Postings Across Government Agencies
The redeployment exercise also affected several specialised government agencies and departments.
Dr. Paul A. Yinkore was assigned to the Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency, while Dr. Nkenchor O. Onyeisi was posted to the Office of the Deputy Governor.
Mr. Akambe O. Henry was redeployed to the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, while Engr. Aghagba Solomon was assigned to the Ministry of Works (Highways and Urban Roads).
In addition, Mr. Ogbugo Victor Chike was posted to the Ministry of Environment, Mr. Ighoyota M. Rocky moved to the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Mr. Itawansa Augustine A. was redeployed to the Ministry of Economic Planning.
Focus on Administrative Efficiency
Other postings include Mr. Onobrakpeyan Edwin O., who was assigned to the Ministry of Water Resources, Mr. Lucky Nkemachor, who was directed to resume duties in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, and Mr. Amaduobogha Peter, who was posted to the Ministry of Lands and Survey.
Government sources indicated that the redeployment forms part of broader efforts to optimise personnel placement, strengthen institutional coordination and ensure that experienced administrators are positioned where their expertise can deliver maximum impact.
Handover Deadline Announced
The Head of Service directed all affected Permanent Secretaries to conclude their handover processes on or before June 8, 2026.
The latest administrative reshuffle underscores the state government’s commitment to maintaining an effective and responsive public service capable of supporting the implementation of its development programmes and policy objectives.
