NIGERIA’S men’s volleyball team will begin its campaign for qualification to the 2026 CAVB African Volleyball Nations Cup with an opening fixture against Niger Republic at the ongoing Zone 3 Qualifiers in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
The match, scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, represents Nigeria’s first hurdle in a tournament that will determine which teams progress to Africa’s premier volleyball championship.
Coaches and supporters will be hoping the team can start strongly by securing maximum points against Niger Republic.
Regional Competition Gets Underway
The Zone 3 tournament features six men’s national teams and five women’s teams from across West Africa, all competing for coveted places at the 2026 African Volleyball Nations Cup.
Tuesday’s programme opens with Burkina Faso against Benin before Nigeria takes centre stage against Niger Republic, while host nation Côte d’Ivoire closes the men’s schedule with a meeting against Togo.
The women’s fixtures will see Côte d’Ivoire begin its campaign against Togo before Benin faces Burkina Faso later in the evening.
