Dennis Osadebay University Raises Alarm Over Fake Nursing Admissions

University Disowns Unauthorized Admission Claims
THE management of Dennis Osadebay University (DOU), Asaba, has warned prospective students and the general public against a fraudulent advertisement falsely claiming to offer admission into the institution’s Nursing programme through a purported Post-UTME exercise.
In a statement released through the university’s newsletter dated June 6, 2026, the institution described the advertisement as fake, unauthorized, and designed to deceive admission seekers.
The university said it had become aware of activities by individuals allegedly circulating misleading information and exploiting the growing demand for admission into Nursing and other competitive programmes.
Public Urged to Ignore Fraudsters
According to the management, Dennis Osadebay University has not appointed any individual, organisation, consultant, or third-party agent to advertise, process, or collect money for admissions on its behalf.
The institution stressed that all admission-related activities are conducted strictly through official channels approved by the university.
Prospective applicants, parents, and guardians were therefore advised to disregard any advertisement requesting payments, registration fees, or personal details outside the university’s official communication platforms.
The university warned that anyone who engages with such unauthorized individuals does so at their own risk.
Security Agencies Invited to Investigate
DOU disclosed that the matter has been reported to relevant security agencies for investigation and possible prosecution of those responsible for the alleged scam.
The management noted that admission fraud remains a growing concern in the education sector and urged members of the public to remain vigilant when responding to information circulating on social media and other unofficial platforms.
Commitment to Transparent Admissions
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, integrity, and due process, the university assured prospective students that admission into its programmes would be conducted fairly and in accordance with established guidelines.
The institution advised applicants to verify all admission information directly through official university channels before taking any action.
Management further assured candidates that safeguarding the credibility of the university’s admission process remains a top priority as preparations continue for the 2026/2027 academic session.
