Security Forces Tighten Net As Suspected Terror Kingpin Falls In Zamfara

Military Operation Leads to Arrest
TROOPS of the Nigerian Army have arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin during a carefully coordinated intelligence-led operation at the weekly market in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Security sources disclosed that the operation was carried out on June 4 after credible intelligence indicated that a wanted suspect, identified as Kachalla Halilu, had been sighted within the busy market environment.
Swift Response by Troops
Acting on the intelligence report, soldiers attached to the 8 Division Garrison quickly mobilised to the area and successfully apprehended the suspect without resistance or casualties.
The operation was executed smoothly, allowing security personnel to take the suspect into custody while maintaining order in the marketplace.
Items Recovered
Following the arrest, troops recovered several items believed to be linked to the suspect. These included a motorcycle, a mobile phone, a cap and livestock medication.
Security officials noted that all recovered items have been documented as part of the ongoing investigation.
Investigation Continues
The suspect and the recovered exhibits have since been transferred to military intelligence authorities for further interrogation and investigation.
Security agencies said the arrest forms part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist and criminal networks operating across Zamfara State and the wider North-West region. Investigators are also working to identify possible associates and determine the full extent of the suspect’s activities.
