NFF Reschedules President Federation Cup Decider For Asaba

Final Moved, Venue Retained
THE Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has postponed the final of the 2026 President Federation Cup, moving the country’s biggest domestic cup fixture from 27 June to 11 July.
Despite the adjustment to the calendar, the venue remains unchanged, with the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State, set to host the title-deciding encounter.
The postponement means football fans will have to wait a little longer before witnessing the battle for one of the most prestigious trophies in Nigerian football.
El Kanemi Warriors Face Ikorodu City
The rescheduled final will pit Nigeria Premier Football League side El Kanemi Warriors against ambitious newcomers Ikorodu City in what promises to be a keenly contested clash.
Both teams earned their places in the final through impressive cup runs and now stand just one victory away from national silverware.
For El Kanemi Warriors, the match presents an opportunity to add another major trophy to their cabinet, while Ikorodu City will be aiming to complete a remarkable campaign with a historic triumph.
Extra Time for Preparation
Although the NFF has not provided an official explanation for the postponement, the revised date offers both finalists additional time to fine-tune their preparations.
Coaches and players are expected to use the extra weeks to improve fitness levels, address tactical issues and ensure their squads are fully ready for the decisive encounter.
With the venue confirmed and anticipation continuing to build, attention will now shift toward 11 July when one of the two clubs will be crowned champions of the 2026 President Federation Cup.
