PSC Reshuffles Police Leadership, Appoints New CPs For Eight States

THE Police Service Commission has approved a fresh round of senior police postings across Nigeria.
The decision affects eight state commands. It also includes the appointment of a new Commandant for the Nigeria Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State.
CP Samuel Erale Etaifo is the new Commissioner of Police for Delta State. CP Patrick Daaor takes charge in Edo, while CP Nnanna Oji Ama heads the Anambra State Command.
The commission also posted CP Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo to Abia State. CP Ayodeji Faniyan moves to Plateau, while CP Saka Adewale Ajao assumes duty in Bayelsa.
CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue will now lead the Cross River State Command. CP Tijani Murtala has been deployed to Jigawa State.
The PSC appointed AIG Auwal Musa Mohammed as Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy.
Mohammed has served the Nigeria Police Force for more than 33 years.
His career spans intelligence, investigations, operations and police training.
He previously served as Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State. He also headed the Police College in Maiduguri before becoming Assistant Inspector-General of Police for Zones 3 and 6.
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Bayero University. He is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
The commission said the latest postings were necessary following recent promotions of senior officers.
It said the changes would strengthen command structures and improve policing nationwide.
Retired Justice Paul Adamu Galumje, who presided over the meeting with the officers, urged them to remain fair, disciplined and professional.
He reminded them to uphold the rule of law and maintain political neutrality while carrying out their duties.
The meeting was attended by other members of the commission, including Alhaji Abdulfatah Mohammed, retired Justice Christine Ladi Dabup, Chief Onyemuche Nnamani and the Commission’s Secretary.
The PSC expressed confidence that the new appointments would enhance operational effectiveness and support improved public safety across the affected commands.
