Delta Sports Commission Celebrates Oborevwori’s Third Anniversary

THE Delta State Sports Commission has congratulated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on his third anniversary in office, commending his administration’s contributions to sports development and youth empowerment across the state.

In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Commission, Hon. Onoriode Joshua Oborevwori, the management and staff of the commission described the governor’s leadership as visionary and impactful, particularly through the implementation of the administration’s MORE Agenda.

Investments In Sports Infrastructure

The commission noted that the Oborevwori administration had continued to prioritise the development of sports through improved funding and infrastructural investments.

According to the statement, the state government has strengthened sports administration by upgrading facilities, supporting grassroots talent development and sustaining Delta State’s participation in national and international competitions.

The commission stated that the administration’s commitment to sports has reinforced Delta’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading sporting states.

Improved Welfare For Athletes And Coaches

The commission also highlighted the welfare policies introduced for athletes and coaches under the present administration.

It noted that enhanced support systems and improved welfare packages have motivated athletes to continue excelling in various competitions while promoting professionalism within the sector.

According to the commission, the government’s support has created opportunities for young talents to pursue careers in sports and achieve success at higher levels.
