Oborevwori Links Political Success To Spiritual Guidance At Warri Thanksgiving

Governor underscores the influence of spiritual leaders during thanksgiving service for surviving clerics.
DELTA State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has declared that politicians who disregard or undermine spiritual leaders risk failure, stressing that “Fathers of Faith” play a crucial role in shaping leadership and societal stability.
The governor made the remarks during a thanksgiving service at Word of Life Bible Church, organised to celebrate the survival of prominent clerics, Ayo Oritsejafor and Felix Omobude, following a recent air incident.
Celebration of Survival and Faith
The event drew religious leaders, political figures and worshippers from across the country, reflecting the influence of the clerics being honoured.
Governor Oborevwori described the gathering not as a moment of mourning, but a celebration of divine preservation, noting that the survival of the church leaders was a testament to God’s faithfulness.
He emphasised that spiritual leaders continue to provide moral guidance, prayers and support that are critical to leadership at all levels.
Personal Reflection and Political Journey
Reflecting on his own political experience, the governor said he had consistently sought spiritual counsel, especially during challenging moments, including legal battles and political transitions.
He disclosed that he consulted religious leaders before making key decisions in his career, attributing his success to divine guidance and prayers.
According to him, honouring spiritual fathers is not only a cultural value but also a strategic necessity for leaders seeking stability and success.
Tributes to Spiritual Leaders
Governor Oborevwori paid tribute to Pastor Oritsejafor, describing him as a global spiritual figure whose mentorship has shaped lives across generations.
He noted that the presence of clerics from different regions at the event reflected the far-reaching impact of Oritsejafor’s ministry.
Testimonies of Divine Preservation
In his remarks, Ayo Oritsejafor recounted several near-death experiences, including aviation-related incidents he survived under unusual circumstances.
He described these moments as evidence of divine protection, expressing gratitude for what he called God’s continuous intervention in his life.
Delivering a sermon, David Zilly-Aggrey described the thanksgiving as a powerful acknowledgment of God’s protection, insisting that the incident defied human explanation.
Message on Leadership and Faith
The governor concluded by urging leaders and citizens alike to value spiritual guidance, stressing that prayers and mentorship from religious leaders remain vital for societal progress.
He maintained that leadership without moral and spiritual grounding risks instability, reinforcing his warning that those who disregard such influence do so at their own peril.
