Pilgrims Lift Nigeria in Prayer During Hajj
PILGRIMS from Kwara State have offered special prayers for peace, unity, and national development during the ongoing Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca.
The prayer session, held on Sunday, saw worshippers seeking divine intervention for stability in Nigeria, while also praying for the continued progress of their home state.
Focus on Leadership and Governance
During the gathering, the pilgrims prayed for wisdom, guidance, and a successful administration for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
They also expressed gratitude for the support received from the state government, noting that their welfare had been adequately addressed throughout the pilgrimage exercise.
The prayers were led by Mujitaba Bature Yusuf, a respected religious leader in the Ilorin Emirate, alongside other Islamic scholars.
Officials and Traditional Leaders in Attendance
The event attracted key government officials and traditional rulers, including senior commissioners, members of the pilgrims’ board, and community leaders.
Their presence underscored the importance of the spiritual exercise, not only as a religious obligation but also as a platform for national reflection and unity.
Pilgrims Reported in Stable Condition
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mashood Mahmud Jimba, confirmed that all pilgrims are in stable condition ahead of the major Hajj rites.
He disclosed that only one pilgrim experienced a minor health issue but has since shown significant recovery after receiving medical attention in Medina.
Spiritual Readiness for Key Hajj Rites
According to officials, the pilgrims are fully prepared for the core Hajj rites, including Arafah, Mina, and Muzdalifah.
Large numbers of worshippers from across the world have already gathered in the holy cities, highlighting the global scale of the pilgrimage.
