FG Declares 1st May Public Holiday To Mark Workers’ Day 2026

THE Federal Government of Nigeria has declared 1st May 2026 a public holiday to celebrate International Workers’ Day.
Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration in an official statement released by Permanent Secretary Magdalene Ajani.
Recognition of Workers’ Role in Development
The government commended Nigerian workers for their vital role in driving national growth and sustaining economic activities.
According to the minister, the dedication of the workforce remains indispensable to the country’s development agenda.
