Autopsy Begins In Favour Agbro Case As Calls For Justice Grow Across Delta

THE Delta State Police Command has taken another major step in its investigation into the death of 20-year-old Favour Agbro by exhuming her body for an autopsy. The exercise was conducted on 28th July in the presence of investigators, medical pathologists and representatives of all parties connected to the case. The forensic examination is expected to help determine the medical cause of her death and provide evidence that could assist the ongoing investigation.
The case has attracted widespread public attention following allegations that Agbro was sexually assaulted before her death. Police earlier arrested content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as “Odogwu of Asaba,” in connection with the allegations. Authorities have stated that the suspect remains in custody and will be arraigned once investigations are concluded.
Human rights activist Israel Joe said investigators have also obtained medical records from hospitals where Agbro reportedly received treatment before she died. He described the autopsy as an important part of efforts to establish the facts surrounding the case.
The investigation has continued to generate intense public interest, with many Nigerians urging law enforcement authorities to conduct a thorough, transparent and impartial investigation. Rights advocates have also called for justice for the deceased while emphasizing the need for the findings to be guided by credible forensic and medical evidence.
