Asaba Palace Gets New Guards As Asagba Azinge Strengthens Royal Institution
THE Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, SAN, OON, has inaugurated the Royal Palace Guards as part of efforts to strengthen the structure and protection of the traditional institution.
The inauguration took place at the Asagba Palace in Asaba on Monday.
During the ceremony, Chief Obi Ubaka Attoh, Onihe Ahaba, administered the oath of office to the newly constituted guards.
Addressing the guards afterwards, Asagba Azinge charged them to approach their responsibilities with diligence, discipline and courage.
He urged them to understand that their duties extend beyond the Palace to the wider Asaba community.
The monarch, popularly known as Nna Agu, stressed the importance of putting the interests of Asaba above personal considerations.
He urged the guards to protect the dignity, integrity and interests of the Asaba Kingdom while carrying out their responsibilities.
According to him, Asaba remains greater than any individual or personal interest.
Azinge also announced plans to provide appropriate training for the guards. He said the training would equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively and professionally.
The monarch further assured the guards that the Palace would support their welfare within available resources.
He also promised that their dedication and commitment would receive due recognition and reward.
The inauguration represents another step towards strengthening the administrative and security structure of the Asagba Palace.
It also underscores the Palace’s efforts to preserve the dignity of the traditional institution while protecting the interests of the Asaba people.
The new guards are now expected to combine discipline, professionalism and commitment as they take up their responsibilities within the Palace and the Asaba Kingdom.
