Asaba Gets Daily Air Links To Lagos, Abuja As ValueJet Targets Festive Travellers

By AMANDA EZE
VALUEJET will resume daily scheduled flights between Lagos and Asaba, as well as Asaba and Abuja, from Friday 20 November 2026, ahead of the festive season.
The airline’s decision is expected to provide additional travel options for passengers visiting Delta State and neighbouring communities during the year-end holidays.
The restoration of the routes comes as many Nigerians begin preparations for Christmas and New Year celebrations. Consequently, the daily services could ease travel arrangements for families, business owners and professionals returning home for the holidays.
Daily Services to Connect Asaba with Lagos and Abuja
According to the airline, the restored services will operate daily and provide direct connections between the three cities.
The Lagos–Asaba route will link Nigeria’s commercial centre with Delta State’s capital. Meanwhile, the Asaba–Abuja service will provide passengers with a direct connection to the nation’s capital.
By restoring the daily flights, ValueJet aims to offer passengers greater flexibility when choosing travel dates. This will particularly benefit travellers who plan to return home early or fly closer to Christmas after completing their work commitments.
The airline’s Managing Director, Omololu Majekodunmi, said the resumption reflected its commitment to meeting passengers’ travel needs during the festive period.
He explained that the season was about family relationships and shared experiences, adding that the airline wanted to make it easier for people to reunite with loved ones.
“Restoring our daily services to Asaba reflects our deep commitment to serving the travel needs of our passengers during the most important time of the year,” Majekodunmi said.
He added that ValueJet was committed to providing a reliable, comfortable and affordable travel option for families and communities across the region.
Airline Expands Domestic & Regional Connections
The restored Asaba services will complement ValueJet’s existing domestic network, which includes destinations such as Port Harcourt, Jos, Owerri, Calabar, Benin and GWI-Iperu.
In addition, the airline operates regional services to Accra, Banjul, Cotonou and Malabo. It also plans to expand its West African network to include Libreville, Monrovia and Abidjan.
The expansion forms part of the airline’s efforts to strengthen domestic and regional connectivity.
For passengers travelling during the festive season, the return of the Asaba routes will provide another option for reaching the state without relying exclusively on road transportation.
Passengers Advised to Book Early
ValueJet has encouraged travellers to make reservations early to secure their preferred dates, particularly as demand for festive-season travel increases.
Passengers can obtain flight schedules, fare information and make online reservations through the airline’s official website, www.flyvaluejet.com. They can also contact its customer service through the airline’s official communication channels.
ValueJet operates under FlyForValue Aviation Ltd. Founded in 2018, the airline commenced commercial operations in October 2022, with its primary hubs in Lagos and Abuja.
As the year-end travel period approaches, the resumption of daily flights is expected to strengthen air connections to Asaba and provide additional options for passengers travelling between Delta State, Lagos and Abuja.
