APC Unveils Returning Officers for Akwa Ibom Governorship Primary
THE All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the appointment of returning and collation officers for the conduct of its governorship primary election in Akwa Ibom State.
According to the list released by the party, Prince Enobong Uwah has been appointed as the State Returning Officer for the governorship nomination exercise scheduled to hold across the state.
The party also named 31 local government collation officers to supervise and coordinate the electoral process at the grassroots level.
Uwah to Coordinate Statewide Collation
Prince Enobong Uwah is expected to oversee the collation and coordination of results from all the 31 local government areas in the state.
Party stakeholders described the appointment as a crucial step toward ensuring a credible, transparent, and orderly governorship primary process.
Political observers note that the governorship primary is expected to shape the APC’s preparations ahead of the next electoral cycle in Akwa Ibom State.
APC Names Local Government Officers
The list released by the party covered all local government areas in the state, including Uyo, Eket, Ikot Ekpene, Etinan, Oron, Itu, Abak, Ika, Ini, Ukanafun, and Nsit Ubium.
Among those appointed are Emmanuel Udofia for Abak, Godfrey Enamidem Essien for Eastern Obolo, Ekere Usoroh for Eket, and Helen Akpate for Etim Ekpo.
Others include Lawrence Ekopimoh David for Etinan, Kufre Ikono for Ibesikpo-Asutan, Ubong Uwah for Ibiono Ibom, Umo Amadu for Ika, and Emmanuel Umoh for Ikono.
The party also appointed Victor Jonah for Ibeno, Ntiedo Udoetuk for Ikot Ekpene, Patrick Edeke for Mkpat Enin, Victor Henry for Nsit Ubium, and Uwemedimo Etim Udoh for Uyo Local Government Area.
Preparations Intensify Ahead of Primaries
The release of the names signals intensified preparations by the APC ahead of the governorship nomination process in the state.
Party leaders are expected to work closely with the returning officers to ensure smooth accreditation, voting, collation, and announcement of results during the exercise.
