Akwa Ibom Police Intercept Minibus, Free Three Kidnapped Children

Swift Police Response to Distress Call
OPERATIVES of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have rescued three abducted children and arrested two suspected child traffickers in Ekparakwa village, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area.
The operation followed a distress call received at about 7 pm on Wednesday from a concerned resident reporting the abduction of the children.
Tactical Operation and Roadblocks Laid
According to Police Public Relations Officer, Timfon John, detectives were immediately deployed after the report was received.
Security teams reportedly cordoned off key entry and exit routes in the area as part of a coordinated search-and-rescue operation aimed at recovering the victims and apprehending the suspects.
Victims Found Inside Intercepted Vehicle
During the operation, officers intercepted a minibus with registration number 8:30 PH.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of the three missing children, who were found inside the bus and rescued unharmed.
Two suspects were arrested at the scene and taken into custody for further investigation.
Children Reunited With Families
The rescued children have since been reunited with their families, while the suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue.
The Commissioner of Police, Baba Azare, commended the swift response of officers and praised community members for providing timely information that aided the operation.
