NIHOTOUR, Circuits Forge Digital Alliance To Revolutionise Nigeria’s Hospitality & Tourism Landscape
By OBI DAVIES
The National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) has entered a groundbreaking partnership with Circuits, Africa’s leading virtual cinema and audiovisual distribution platform, to digitally transform Nigeria’s hospitality and tourism sector.
The collaboration aims to make professional training, culinary showcases, and capacity development programmes more accessible to millions of Nigerians working across hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, catering services, and other parts of the hospitality value chain.
Under the initiative, NIHOTOUR will deploy Circuits’ cutting-edge digital platform to stream its certified training courses, industry workshops, and culinary exhibitions to both local and global audiences. This will allow practitioners and aspiring professionals to acquire world-class knowledge and skills regardless of their location, bridging long-standing gaps in access and quality.
The project will also spotlight Nigeria’s rich culinary heritage through digitally streamed cooking showcases, featuring indigenous recipes and creative gastronomy designed to promote the nation’s cultural and hospitality excellence on the global stage.
Speaking on the partnership, Aare Dr. Abisoye Fagade, Director-General of NIHOTOUR, described the move as a “major leap in hospitality capacity development,” aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which emphasises innovation, youth empowerment, and economic diversification.
“By embracing digital dissemination, we are expanding NIHOTOUR’s reach to millions of Nigerians, equipping them with the skills to compete and excel globally,” Fagade said.
Echoing his enthusiasm, Imade Bibowei-Osuobeni, Chief Operating Officer of Circuits, noted that the partnership blends technology, creativity, and education to elevate Nigeria’s image in the global hospitality arena.
“Circuits is designed to connect African creativity with the world. Working with NIHOTOUR lets us redefine how hospitality expertise and indigenous culinary excellence are shared and celebrated,” she said.
Through this alliance, NIHOTOUR is reaffirming its leadership in hospitality training, standardisation, and professional excellence, while leveraging Circuits’ digital reach to reposition Nigeria as a hub for hospitality innovation and tourism growth in Africa.
“Together, NIHOTOUR and Circuits are shaping the digital future of Nigeria’s hospitality and tourism sector,” Fagade added, “empowering practitioners, inspiring creativity, and driving sustainable growth through technology.”
