PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu has likened the economic hardship facing Nigerians to the “pain of a painful surgery,” assuring citizens that recovery and prosperity are now within sight.
Speaking at the coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, at Mapo Hall on Friday, Tinubu acknowledged the sacrifices caused by his administration’s economic reforms.
“The economy has turned the corner. There is a bright light at the end of the tunnel. Your suffering is the pain of a painful surgery, but growth and prosperity await us ahead,” the president said, thanking Nigerians for their perseverance and patience.
Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde, who presented the Staff of Office to Oba Ladoja, hailed the event as historic. The coronation drew dignitaries including the Sultan of Sokoto, the Alaafin of Oyo, and governors from Ondo, Osun, and Ekiti states, as well as lawmakers and federal officials.
