Johngold Hails Erhimedafe’s Appointment To Delta Waste Board

Praise for New Appointment
CHIEF Macaulay Johngold, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Okpara Ward 4, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, has congratulated Hon. Felix Erhimedafe on his appointment as Acting Chairman of the Delta State Waste Management Board.
Johngold described the appointment as timely and well deserved, commending Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for entrusting Erhimedafe with the responsibility of leading the agency.
Confidence in Leadership Capacity
According to Johngold, Erhimedafe possesses the administrative experience and political background needed to succeed in the new role.
He noted that the appointee has served in several capacities at both local government and state levels, adding that his previous assignments demonstrated diligence and commitment to public service.
Supporters of the appointment say leadership stability at the waste management board is crucial as urban centres across Delta continue to face rising sanitation and environmental pressures.
Waste Management as Public Priority
The Delta State Waste Management Board plays a central role in refuse evacuation, environmental sanitation, and public health management across the state.
Analysts note that the board’s effectiveness is especially important in fast-growing cities such as Asaba, Warri, Ughelli, and Sapele, where population expansion has increased waste generation.
Erhimedafe is expected to oversee operational improvements and coordinate with local councils on waste disposal systems.
Political Undertone Ahead of 2027
Johngold also used the occasion to call on residents of Okpara, Agbon Clan, and Ethiope East to support Governor Oborevwori and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Political observers say such endorsements reflect early positioning as parties begin grassroots mobilisation for the next electoral cycle.
Expectations Going Forward
For many residents, however, the immediate concern remains service delivery. Environmental experts argue that appointments to sanitation agencies are best judged not by political praise, but by cleaner streets, efficient waste evacuation, and stronger urban hygiene systems.
Erhimedafe now assumes office with expectations to convert goodwill into visible results.
