JAMB Explains How To Check, Print 2026 UTME Result Slip

Candidates Await Full Result Slip Access
THE Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the first batch of results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), but candidates have been informed that official result slips are not yet available for printing.
According to information released by the board, candidates can currently check only their scores through the approved SMS channel, while full result slips will be activated later on the official JAMB portal.
The UTME result slip is an important document required for admission screening, post-UTME registration, and institutional clearance processes.
How to Check Scores via SMS
JAMB advised candidates who sat for the examination to use the mobile number linked to their registration details.
To check results:
- Ensure there is at least ₦50 airtime on the registered phone line.
- Send UTMERESULT as a text message to 55019.
- Wait for the response containing the candidate’s score.
Officials said this remains the only authorised method for immediate score access at this stage.
How to Print the Result Slip Once Activated
Once JAMB enables printing of official slips, candidates are expected to follow the established portal process.
Steps include:
- Visit the JAMB e-Facility portal at efacility.jamb.gov.ng
- Log in using registered email address and password
- Select Print Result Slip on the dashboard
- Continue with payment of the ₦1,500 processing fee
- Select 2026 as examination year
- Enter registration number
- Download and print the slip
The printed slip usually contains passport photograph, subject scores, and candidate details.
Warning Against Fraud and Manipulation
JAMB also warned candidates against score falsification or manipulation of official SMS responses.
The board described alteration of result messages or use of fake platforms as criminal acts capable of attracting prosecution. It urged candidates to rely only on official JAMB portals and communication channels.
Why the Slip Matters
Education analysts note that many candidates ignore the importance of the official result slip until admission processes begin.
Unlike the SMS score message, the printed result slip is widely accepted by institutions as formal proof of performance and identity.
Candidates were advised to keep multiple copies once available and resolve password or login issues early to avoid last-minute delays.
