Good Friday: Kaigama Urges Nigerians To Hold Firm In Faith & Hope

Good Friday Reflection: Kaigama Preaches Hope Amid Challenges
THE Archbishop of Abuja, Ignatius Kaigama, has called on Nigerians to remain strong in faith and hopeful for a better future as Christians observe Good Friday.
Marking one of the most solemn days in the Christian calendar, Kaigama said the commemoration of Christ’s suffering and death serves as a reminder that sacrifice leads to victory.
According to him, the message of Easter reassures believers that no matter the trials they face, faith in Christ guarantees triumph over adversity.
Faith, Humility and Service
The Archbishop urged Christians to reflect deeply on the teachings of Jesus Christ by living lives rooted in humility, love, and service to humanity.
He emphasized the importance of resisting wrongdoing and embracing values that promote peace and unity in society.
“Easter teaches us to love without boundaries and serve others sincerely,” he noted.
Empowering Youth and Strengthening Society
Addressing Nigeria’s youth, Kaigama encouraged them to remain determined and hopeful despite economic and social difficulties.
He called on government authorities to provide opportunities for young people, while also urging the youth to channel their energy and creativity toward nation-building.
The cleric further highlighted the role of charity and compassion in building a just society, stressing that genuine care for others can help reduce inequality and social tension.
Governance and Moral Responsibility
On national issues, Kaigama advocated for free, fair, and credible elections, stressing the importance of transparency and accountability in governance.
He also urged citizens to uphold orderly civic conduct, noting that national development depends on collective responsibility and ethical leadership.
Reflecting on the Lenten season, he described it as a time for spiritual renewal, repentance, and generosity toward others.
