2027: Oborevwori’s Record, Tinubu’s Policies To Drive APC Campaign In Delta

APC to Campaign on Governance & Performance
THE All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State plans to make Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s achievements and President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies the centrepiece of its campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Charles Aniagwu, Chairman of the Delta APC Campaign Council’s Media and Publicity Committee, said the party would showcase the governor’s performance across various sectors while explaining how the Federal Government’s policies had increased the resources available to states and local governments.
Aniagwu spoke in Asaba while outlining the campaign’s communication strategy. Other members of the committee present included its secretary, Hon. Timi Tonye; the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon; Sir Kenny Okolugbo; and Communication Manager Jackson Ekwugum.
According to Aniagwu, the campaign would focus on governance, development projects and measurable results rather than personal attacks against political opponents.
Infrastructure & Economic Opportunities in Focus
The commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information said Oborevwori remained committed to fulfilling his mandate. Meanwhile, the campaign team would ensure that residents understood the administration’s achievements.
“The governor’s desire is to continue to show his workings. His report card is made up of results,” Aniagwu said, adding that the governor would continue to govern while the campaign team communicated those results to the electorate.
Furthermore, he said the APC would highlight projects and policies addressing infrastructure, economic opportunities and responsive governance.
“We will stay with the issues. We will focus on projects that speak to the needs of our people,” he stated, insisting that the party would not allow political distractions to derail its message.
Tinubu’s Economic Policies to Feature
Beyond the governor’s performance, Aniagwu said the campaign would explain how Tinubu’s economic policies had affected state and local government finances.
He argued that increased resources available to subnational governments had created greater opportunities to execute development projects and programmes. Nevertheless, he acknowledged the economic difficulties facing Nigerians, while maintaining that the Federal Government had introduced measures to address the challenges.
According to him, the campaign would explain how changes at the macroeconomic level were gradually creating opportunities for state and local governments to respond to residents’ needs.
“Oborevwori’s footprints are bold across various sectors in our state, and those achievements have been made possible, in part, by the economic policies of the Tinubu administration,” Aniagwu said.
Party Promises Issue-Based Campaign
Aniagwu also pledged that the APC would respect opposing views and engage political rivals without resorting to insults or mudslinging.
He described those seeking elective positions on other platforms as members of the same community whose opinions deserved respect. However, he maintained that the APC was better positioned to address Delta residents’ needs.
As the 2027 elections approach, the campaign council intends to mobilise support for Tinubu, Oborevwori and other APC candidates.
Aniagwu expressed confidence that a campaign centred on governance, performance and issues affecting voters would help the party consolidate its support across Delta State.
