‘Wish Dem Well’: Charly Boy Celebrates Daughter’s Same-Sex Engagement

NIGERIAN entertainer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has celebrated the engagement of his daughter, Adaeze, to her female partner.
Charly Boy shared a video from the engagement ceremony on Instagram on Thursday. He described the couple as his “beautiful Princess and her Husband” and asked his followers to wish them well.
“My beautiful Princess and her Husband. Folks, wish dem well for me,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, Adaeze publicly announced the engagement on her Instagram page. She shared a photograph of herself with her partner and captioned it, “WE’RE ENGAGED!”
She also used the hashtag #mrsandmrs while expressing excitement about their future together.
In the post, Adaeze spoke about love, laughter, growth and the memories she hopes to create with her partner. She added that she looked forward to what God has in store for them.
The announcement has since attracted reactions across social media, with users expressing different views about the engagement.
Charly Boy, also known as Area Fada, has remained outspoken over the years about his family, personal beliefs and several social issues.
His public celebration of Adaeze’s engagement has therefore drawn further attention to the development and his response to his daughter’s decision.
