Oborevwori Celebrates Former First Lady
DELTA State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated the former First Lady of the state, Mrs. Roli Nere Uduaghan, on her 65th birth anniversary, describing her as a woman whose life has been defined by compassion, resilience and selfless service.
In a congratulatory message issued in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Oborevwori commended the former First Lady for her contributions to philanthropy and social advocacy.
The governor particularly recognised her efforts in supporting widows, orphans, inmates and other vulnerable members of society.
According to him, Mrs. Uduaghan’s years of humanitarian engagement have demonstrated a sustained commitment to improving the lives of people facing difficult circumstances.
Remembering the “I CARE” Initiative
Oborevwori also recalled Mrs. Uduaghan’s humanitarian interventions through the “I CARE” initiative during the administration of her husband, former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.
The initiative focused on providing assistance and empowerment to less-privileged people across Delta State.
The governor said the programme became an avenue through which vulnerable members of society received relief and support, particularly those who needed assistance to improve their circumstances.
He noted that Mrs. Uduaghan’s involvement in such interventions reflected a broader commitment to social welfare and community development.
A Record of Compassion
While congratulating her on attaining 65, Oborevwori described the former First Lady as a “woman of virtue and compassion”, saying her public service had extended beyond the formal responsibilities associated with her position as First Lady.
He said her interventions had touched numerous lives and contributed to efforts aimed at supporting people who were economically or socially vulnerable.
The governor said Mrs. Uduaghan had remained a “shining example” of compassion, resilience and service to humanity.
“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta State, I celebrate with you on this special occasion of your 65th birthday,” Oborevwori said.
“This milestone is a testimony to God’s grace upon your life and the numerous lives you have touched with your compassion.”
Prayers for Continued Impact
As she begins another year, the governor prayed for God’s continued guidance and strength for the former First Lady.
He also wished her good health, peace and personal fulfilment, while expressing hope that she would continue to contribute to humanitarian and social causes.
“As you mark this new age, may the Almighty continue to strengthen you, reward your labour of love, and grant you greater joy in the years ahead,” Oborevwori added.
The birthday message therefore combined personal goodwill with recognition of Mrs. Uduaghan’s public-facing humanitarian activities, particularly her advocacy and support for vulnerable groups during her years as Delta’s First Lady.
