Presidential Primary: Oborevwori Visits Emerhor, Mobilises Massive Support For Tinubu …Reaffirms Party Discipline, Loyalty And Respect For APC Leadership
DELTA State Governor and Coordinator of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Primary Election in the state, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has directed leaders, stakeholders and members of the party across Delta State to mobilise extensively and ensure overwhelming affirmation votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Saturday’s nationwide presidential primary.
Governor Oborevwori issued the directive on Friday during a strategic visit to the founding leader of APC in Delta State, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, at his Evwreni residence in Ughelli North Local Government Area.
Addressing party stakeholders, the governor expressed strong confidence in the numerical strength and statewide structures of the Delta APC, stating that the party was well-positioned to deliver at least 390,000 affirmation votes for President Tinubu.
He noted that the APC in Delta currently has over 470,000 registered members, stressing that such a vast membership base must reflect in turnout and voting strength during the exercise.
According to him,
“We know our strength as a party. With over 470,000 members, we expect a massive turnout. This exercise is crucial to the unity and future of the APC, and we must deliver strong numbers.”
The governor recalled the overwhelming support he received during his own affirmation as the APC governorship candidate—where he polled more than 345,000 votes—adding that President Tinubu, as the national leader of the party, deserved even greater mobilisation and support.
Governor Oborevwori used the occasion to underscore the centrality of discipline, loyalty and respect for constituted authority within political organisations. He warned that any party that fails to uphold internal order, hierarchy and leadership structures risks fragmentation, instability and poor electoral performance.
He added that party supremacy must guide members, especially during sensitive and high-stakes political processes such as primary elections.
“A political party without discipline and respect for authority cannot progress. Leadership must be respected because it provides direction, order and institutional stability.”
The governor urged stakeholders to avoid divisive conduct and remain focused on collective responsibility, unity of purpose and organisational cohesion.
Responding, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, founding leader of APC in Delta State and Chairman of the APC Ughelli North Leaders Council, commended the governor for demonstrating purposeful leadership since joining the party.
Emerhor praised Oborevwori for his humility, consistent respect for elders and commitment to strengthening the party’s internal cohesion.
“Governor Oborevwori is a leader who respects elders. We have fought for this party for years, and his leadership has brought direction and renewed organisation.”
He insisted that political actors must not circumvent party structures and that no aspirant can succeed without due consultation and respect for established leadership organs.
Emerhor assured the governor of the full backing of APC leaders, noting that party members across Delta State were committed to delivering substantial votes for President Tinubu.
“We stand firmly behind you, and we will work diligently to deliver strong numbers for President Bola Tinubu,” he said.
