Oborevwori’s Infrastructure Push Reaches Imode As Road Construction Begins

Commissioner Visits Imode Project Site
REUBEN Izeze on Saturday carried out an unscheduled inspection of the ongoing construction of internal roads in Imode Community, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads) expressed satisfaction with the pace of work and praised the contractor for mobilising quickly to the site shortly after the project was awarded.
Drainage Construction Already Underway
Speaking during the visit, Izeze noted that the project was only recently approved, yet drainage construction had already commenced.
According to him, the swift mobilisation reflected the seriousness and professionalism of the indigenous construction company handling the project.
He added that the firm had a reputation for delivering projects according to approved engineering specifications.
First Asphalt Road for Imode
The commissioner described the road project as historic for Imode Community, noting that it would mark the first time an asphalted internal road would be constructed in the area.
He credited the development to the administration of Sheriff Oborevwori, whom he described as responsive to the needs of local communities.
Residents Welcome Development
Izeze recalled that residents had for years demanded greater government presence and infrastructure development in the community.
He expressed confidence that the contractor would maintain the current pace and complete the project within schedule for the benefit of residents.
The project forms part of wider road contracts recently approved by the Delta State Tenders Board for communities in Ughelli South Local Government Area, including Okwagbe, Imode and Eyara.
