Oborevwori Boosts Civil Service Awards, Gives Outstanding Workers ₦750,000 Top Prize

GOVERNOR Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has fulfilled his promise to triple cash prizes for outstanding civil servants.
The governor made the increased awards part of the 2026 Civil Service Week celebration. The beneficiaries received their cheques on Wednesday 2 September, at the Office of the Head of Service in Asaba.
Head of Service, Dr. Mrs. Mininim Oseji, presented the cheques to the awardees.
The state recognised the civil servants for excellence, punctuality, commitment and outstanding performance across various Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
Umufo Faith of the Ministry of Youth Development emerged as Most Valuable Staff in the Junior Category. She received ₦150,000.
Reuben Udolu of the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community and Social Development also received ₦150,000 as Most Punctual Staff in the Senior Category.
N. Atisele of the Delta State Hospital Management Board won the Most Punctual Staff award in the Senior Category and received ₦150,000.
Oniovokukor Rukvwe Raphael of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Renewal earned ₦150,000 after emerging as Most Valuable Staff in the Senior Category.
Meanwhile, Emmanuel Okotete of the Ministry of Oil and Gas received ₦200,000 for finishing as the highest goal scorer in the Civil Service Week football competition.
Abuga Dennis of the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources took the biggest prize. He received ₦750,000 after emerging as Best Civil Servant Farmer.
Oseji thanked Governor Oborevwori for increasing the prizes. She said the gesture demonstrated his commitment to staff welfare, motivation and recognition.
The beneficiaries also appreciated the governor. They said the awards would encourage greater dedication, hard work and healthy competition within the state public service.
