Nigeria Sweep Gambia to Claim First U18 Beach Volleyball Win

NIGERIA secured their first victory at the 2026 African U18 Beach Volleyball Development Cup in Sally, Senegal, with a convincing 2–0 win over Gambia.

The Nigerian side controlled the contest from the opening point. They raced to a 21–9 victory in the first set, leaving Gambia with little room to respond.

Nigeria maintained the momentum in the second set. They closed out the match with a 21–13 win to complete a straight-sets victory.

The result marks Nigeria’s first triumph in the competition and provides a timely boost to their campaign.

The young Nigerians will now look to build on the performance as they continue their quest for a strong finish at the continental tournament.
