DSCTDA Steps Up Sanitation Ahead Of Delta Economic Summit

THE Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA) has intensified environmental sanitation across Asaba ahead of the Delta State Economic Summit.
The exercise focuses on the Asaba-Ibusa Expressway and other strategic locations expected to receive delegates, investors and visitors attending the summit from 2nd to 5th August.
The agency began the operation on Thursday. Its workers have removed heaps of sand from road surfaces. They have also cleared illegal refuse dumps, swept major roads and evacuated waste to approved disposal sites.
The clean-up aims to create a safer and more attractive environment for guests arriving in the state. Officials say the exercise also seeks to improve public health and enhance the city’s image.
DSCTDA Director-General, Chief Patrick Ukah, monitored the operation. He said the agency remains committed to keeping Asaba clean, orderly and welcoming before and during the investment summit.
Ukah supervised the exercise with the agency’s Manager of Administration, Vincent Okwofadgeke. Head of Environment, Isaac Nwosu, coordinated field operations to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
The agency also launched a public awareness campaign at Koka Interchange. Corporate Affairs Manager, Ngozi Peters, encouraged residents, traders and motorists to dispose of waste properly and support efforts to maintain a cleaner city.
DSCTDA urged residents to sustain good sanitation habits beyond the summit. It stressed that environmental cleanliness remains a shared responsibility that requires the cooperation of government, businesses and the public.
