Delta Police Arrest Teen Suspect Over Alleged Sexual Assault Of 16-Year-Old Girl

A viral video has drawn police attention to an alleged sexual assault involving a 16-year-old girl at a hotel in Ughelli, Delta State.
Following the incident, the Delta State Police Command arrested one of the teenage suspects identified as Godstime.
Police spokesperson Bright Edafe said the suspect was among those allegedly involved in the incident captured in the video.
The girl told the police that a friend, identified as Nice Money, invited her to the hotel.
She said she initially raised concerns about transport fare but was assured that someone would provide the money when she arrived.
However, she alleged that she met two other boys at the hotel and that her friend subsequently left.
According to her account, a disagreement broke out after she told the boys that she was menstruating.
She alleged that one of them slapped her before the pair sexually assaulted her.
The teenager also alleged that the boys recorded the incident with their phones.
Moreover, she said they demanded further sexual acts when she asked them to delete the footage.
Eventually, she said, she managed to leave the hotel while the suspects were asleep.
Godstime acknowledged participating in the sexual encounter and recording the video. However, he rejected the girl’s account of how many times the assault occurred.
He claimed that he and Goodluck had sexual contact with her twice.
The conflicting accounts are now part of a police investigation into what happened inside the hotel.
Beyond the immediate case, the incident has also highlighted the risks minors face when private sexual material is recorded and circulated online.
Police said one of the main suspects who recorded the video was taken into custody.
Edafe also assured the public that the arrested suspect would face prosecution in accordance with the law.
At the same time, the police have not disclosed the identities of the minors involved in the incident.
As investigations continue, the allegations remain subject to due process and any charges must be established through the appropriate legal proceedings.
