Delta NUT Applauds Oborevwori Over Teachers’ Career Advancement

NUT Commends Career Progression Policy
THE Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Delta State Wing, has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for approving enhanced career progression for university graduate teachers in the state’s public primary schools, describing the decision as a major breakthrough for the education sector.
The union said the approval resolved a long-standing challenge that had hindered the professional growth of graduate teachers in public primary schools. It noted that the policy would improve teachers’ welfare, strengthen motivation and enhance classroom performance across the state.
In a letter jointly signed by the State Chairman, Comrade Poubeni Dickson, and the Assistant Secretary-General, Comrade Dan Basime, the union described the governor’s decision as evidence of his administration’s commitment to rewarding professionalism and investing in quality education.
According to the union, creating better opportunities for career advancement would encourage teachers to remain committed to excellence while improving learning outcomes for pupils.
Teachers Pledge Greater Commitment
The NUT assured the governor that teachers would respond to the gesture with renewed dedication, improved productivity and a higher level of professionalism in carrying out their responsibilities.
The union reaffirmed its support for the Oborevwori administration’s M.O.R.E. Agenda, expressing confidence that more policies aimed at improving education and workers’ welfare would be introduced.
It thanked the governor for what it described as another demonstration of his commitment to teachers and prayed for the continued success of his administration’s efforts to transform Delta State through quality education.
