Logistics Hiccup Delays Women’s African Basketball League Qualifiers In Nairobi

THE start of the Women’s Basketball League Africa (WBLA) Qualifiers has been pushed back by two days, with tip-off now scheduled for Sunday 9 November 2025, instead of the original Friday start in Nairobi, Kenya.
Though organisers have yet to release an official statement, insiders attribute the postponement to logistical and travel-related challenges affecting several participating teams.
The qualifiers, featuring top women’s basketball clubs from across Africa, determine which sides advance to the WBLA main season, the continent’s premier women’s basketball competition.
Teams have already begun arriving in Nairobi, and despite the short delay, excitement remains high as fans anticipate an intense showcase of skill, athleticism, and continental pride once the games tip off.
