Police Batons Shock Warriors In CDS Basketball Opener

THE CDS Unity Basketball Championship began in Lagos with the Police Batons stunning Dodan Warriors 61–48 in their debut game.

Led by standout player Kayode Balogun, the Batons dominated from start to finish, sealing their first points of the tournament. Balogun praised his teammates’ unity and vowed the side would go far if they sustained the same energy.

Other opening-day results at Teslim Balogun Stadium saw Delta Force beat Osun United 56–44, Oluyole Warriors outclass Ogun Rockets 73–58, and the University of Ibadan defeat Ogun Rockets 81–55.

The grassroots tournament, sponsored by the Chief of Defence Staff, offers young players a platform to shine with ₦2.5m in prize money at stake.
