Delta Targets Ranching, Renewable Energy To Drive Jobs & Growth

THE Delta State Government says it is set to invest in ranching and renewable energy to spur agricultural and industrial development, create jobs, and boost security.
Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, disclosed this while briefing journalists on the state’s recent investment mission to Brazil. He said the visit opened new opportunities, particularly in ranching, which would increase food production, curb the use of forests as criminal hideouts, and provide employment.
Aniagwu added that talks were also held with renewable energy firms to expand power generation, light up industries, and improve living standards.
He stressed that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration is deliberately focusing on agriculture, energy, and industry to absorb the growing number of graduates and reduce over-reliance on the civil service.
Reaffirming commitment to the M.O.R.E Agenda, Aniagwu also backed the ongoing screening of civil servants, warning that those falsifying records or abusing leave of absence would be removed and made to refund illegal earnings.
He maintained that the state workforce must adhere to decent dressing and integrity standards as part of broader reforms to reposition the economy.
