Police Probe Death Of Pastor Found Inside Akwa Ibom Church

AUTHORITIES are expected to investigate the death of a pastor whose body was discovered inside the premises of the Power in the Word of God for the World Ministry in Oron, Akwa Ibom State.
The cleric was reportedly found dead on Thursday 23 July at the church located along Etim Inyang Street in Oron Local Government Area. The incident has sparked widespread reactions among residents and on social media, where unverified claims about the cause of death have continued to circulate.
Videos shared online showed individuals believed to be church members removing the deceased from the building, while another clip captured the body, wrapped in cloth, inside a police vehicle from the Oron Area Command.
Despite online reports alleging that the pastor may have taken his own life, no official confirmation has been issued by the police. The exact cause of death remains unknown pending the outcome of investigations.
Attempts to obtain comments from the Akwa Ibom State Police Command were unsuccessful, as the Police Public Relations Officer, Timfon John, neither answered calls nor responded to text messages before the report was filed.
With no official statement yet released, authorities are expected to carry out a thorough investigation to establish the facts surrounding the incident, while residents and members of the church await further information.
