Ugbolu Sanitation Sweep: 34 Residents Convicted By Mobile Court

Delta Authorities Sanction Defaulters During Ugbolu Sanitation Exercise
Joint Operation Targets Non-Compliance
NO fewer than 34 residents were convicted on Saturday after the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DCTDA) and Ugbolu Community leadership conducted a joint enforcement exercise during the monthly sanitation programme.
The operation was carried out from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., with officials monitoring movement restrictions and residents’ participation in community clean-up activities.
Mobile Court Delivers Judgments
A mobile court presided over by Magistrate Dike Magdalene entertained 43 cases brought before it during the exercise.
Following hearings, the court convicted 34 offenders, discharged three individuals and sentenced six others to community service.
The session was organised to ensure swift justice and reinforce compliance with environmental sanitation laws.
Residents Urged to Support Cleanliness Drive
Mr. Isaac Nwosu, Head of Environment, who represented DCTDA Director General Mr. Patrick Ukah, said the agency would continue to enforce sanitation rules across the capital territory.
He stressed that maintaining a healthy and clean environment requires cooperation from all residents.
Community leaders also called on citizens to take future sanitation exercises seriously and avoid actions that threaten public hygiene.
