By NJORIGE LYNUS
FIRST Lady Oluremi Tinubu says Nigeria is gaining global recognition for its efforts to tackle insecurity and boost the economy, despite ongoing domestic challenges. Speaking on Fox News during a visit to the U.S., she welcomed international attention and support, including acknowledgment from former U.S. President Donald Trump at the 74th National Prayer Breakfast in Washington.
“We are getting global recognition, and that is what life is about,” she said, noting that Nigeria’s engagement with the U.S. on security matters is “a blessing.” She added that the government has educated foreign partners on the nation’s situation, including clarifying narratives around alleged Christian genocide.
On economic progress, Remi Tinubu highlighted the removal of fuel subsidies, improved refining, stabilizing exchange rates, and ongoing growth. She emphasized the administration’s focus on solutions rather than assigning blame, stressing collaboration with international partners to address security and promote investment in Nigeria.
