Asaba Community Vigilante Gets New Patrol Motorcycles

Boost for Grassroots Policing
THE Asaba Security Trust Fund Committee has donated four motorcycles to the Asaba Community Vigilante (ACV) to strengthen security operations within the city.
The presentation was made on 23 January 2026, at the palace of the Asagba of Asaba.
Royal Endorsement of Security Initiative
The Asagba of Asaba, HRM Prof. Epiphany Azinge, SAN, praised the committee for responding swiftly to security needs in the community. He described the donation as practical and impactful, noting that mobility is key to effective crime prevention.
He urged vigilante members to maintain the motorcycles properly and use them responsibly in carrying out their duties.
Trust Fund Reaffirms Accountability
Chairman of the Trust Fund Committee, Chief Philips Ejike Nwokolo, acknowledged the support of Asaba indigenes and contributors to the security fund. He stressed that transparency remains central to the committee’s operations.
According to him, the motorcycles were procured to enhance patrol efficiency and rapid response by the vigilante group.
Further Interventions Promised
Chief Nwokolo assured the vigilante group and the community that the donation was part of a broader plan to equip local security outfits. He said more logistics would be provided to sustain peace and order across Asaba.
He also thanked the Asagba for his encouragement and guidance.
Vigilante Pledges Commitment
Responding, ACV Chairman Ogbueshi Nnamdi Chukwuedo expressed gratitude to the palace and the Trust Fund Committee. He reaffirmed the group’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property in Asaba.
