Tinubu Reaffirms Commitment to Security, Armed Forces Welfare

FG Pledges Stronger Security Architecture
PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has pledged to further strengthen Nigeria’s security framework, insisting that the Federal Government remains committed to equipping the Armed Forces to effectively respond to both traditional and emerging threats.
The President gave the assurance at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College graduation ceremony in Jaji, Kaduna State, through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.
He described the graduation as a reaffirmation of the core military values of discipline, patriotism and selfless service, congratulating the officers for completing what he called years of sacrifice and dedication.
Call for Strategic Leadership
Tinubu said Nigeria’s security environment has become more complex, with threats ranging from insurgency to cybercrime and climate-induced conflicts. He urged the newly graduated officers to apply strategic foresight, analytical skills and joint operational approaches in addressing these challenges.
He cautioned against misinformation, ethnic sentiments and divisive narratives, warning that such factors pose serious risks to national unity and public trust in the Armed Forces.
Focus on Welfare, Capacity Building
The President reiterated that his administration is prioritising the welfare of military personnel through improved training, modern equipment and better living conditions, describing these efforts as central to building a safe and prosperous Nigeria.
