Delta Approves Automatic Scholarships For Top Graduates

DELTA State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved automatic postgraduate scholarships for the best graduating students from the state’s four universities.

The Executive Secretary of the Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board, Dr. Godfrey Enita, announced that the initiative aims to strengthen academic excellence, support youth development, and advance the Governor’s M.O.R.E. Agenda on human capital growth.

The scheme will benefit the best graduating student from each academic session at Delta State University, Abraka; Southern Delta University, Ozoro; University of Delta, Agbor; and Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba.

Awardees will receive full funding for Master’s and Ph.D. programmes in recognized Nigerian universities. Beneficiaries will, however, complete standard scholarship procedures before accessing the funds.

Dr. Enita noted that the initiative reflects the government’s drive to build a highly skilled, globally competitive youth population and motivate students across state-owned institutions to pursue excellence.
