Oborevwori’s 3rd Anniversary: Delta To Hold Statewide Praise And Thanksgiving Service Tomorrow
THE Delta State Government has announced that a statewide Praise and Thanksgiving Service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, as part of activities marking the third anniversary of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration.
The event, tagged Delta State Praise and Thanksgiving Day 2026, is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the Dome Event Centre, Asaba, with Governor Oborevwori serving as Chief Host.
The State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, calling on Deltans across all communities, denominations and sectors to participate fully in the spiritual gathering.
Aniagwu explained that the thanksgiving service forms a major component of the anniversary celebrations, designed to express gratitude for the peace, unity and developmental gains recorded under the Oborevwori administration over the last three years.
He emphasised that the event would bring together political leaders, traditional rulers, religious organisations, professionals, youths and residents from across the state in an atmosphere of worship, reflection and collective gratitude.
According to the commissioner, the programme will also provide Deltans an opportunity to reflect on the administration’s achievements and to pray for continued divine guidance for sustained growth and progress.
“The Delta State Praise and Thanksgiving Day offers us a moment to appreciate God Almighty for His grace, peace and blessings upon our state, and to seek His continued guidance as we consolidate on our developmental strides,” Aniagwu stated.
He added that intercessory prayers would be offered for enduring peace, unity and prosperity in Delta State and the nation at large.
The commissioner urged residents to attend in large numbers, noting that the service is expected to be one of the flagship activities commemorating the governor’s third year in office.
The event will feature high-intensity worship and praise sessions, with renowned cleric Apostle Joshua Selman scheduled to minister.
Governor Oborevwori is expected to lead members of the State Executive Council, political leaders, top government officials and other stakeholders at the ceremony.
