Oborevwori Orders Half-Mast Flags As Delta Mourns Former Governor Uduaghan
DELTA State has begun a three-day mourning period for former Governor Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan following his death in the early hours of Monday 19 October 2026.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori ordered flags on public buildings across the state to fly at half-mast throughout the period. The directive forms part of the government’s official observance in honour of the late former governor.
The Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, conveyed the decision in a statement issued on Monday. The mourning period commenced the same day and is scheduled to last three days.
Uduaghan, who died aged 71, led Delta State from 2007 to 2015. His passing occurred just three days before his 72nd birthday.
The state government’s decision provides an official expression of mourning for the former governor, whose eight years in office formed a significant chapter in Delta State’s political history.
