Nigeria Dominate Sierra Leone To Boost U19 World Cup Hopes

NIGERIA’S Junior Yellow Greens delivered a commanding performance against Sierra Leone, recording a comprehensive 165-run victory in the ICC U19 World Cup Africa Qualifier.
The Nigerian side took control of the contest after winning the toss and choosing to bat first.
Nigeria’s batters built a strong innings and posted an imposing total of 311 for nine wickets in their 50 overs. The score gave Sierra Leone a difficult target and immediately placed Nigeria in a strong position.
Sierra Leone, however, struggled to keep pace with the required run rate during their reply.
Nigeria’s bowlers maintained control and steadily put the Sierra Leonean batting lineup under pressure. Wickets fell at crucial moments, making it increasingly difficult for their opponents to mount a meaningful challenge.
Sierra Leone were eventually bowled out for 146 runs in 45.5 overs.
The result handed Nigeria a convincing 165-run victory and further strengthened the team’s campaign in the qualifying competition.
The Junior Yellow Greens will now shift their attention to their next fixture as they continue their push for a place at the ICC U19 World Cup.
With a dominant win already secured, Nigeria will hope to maintain its momentum and produce more strong performances in the matches ahead.
