Group Applauds Oborevwori’s Development Agenda, Urges Sustained Momentum

Group Commends Governor’s Development-Oriented Leadership
A pro-good governance group has praised Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for what it described as significant progress in infrastructure, economic development and people-focused governance, urging him to sustain the pace of ongoing reforms and developmental projects across the state.
In a statement issued on Friday and signed by its Convener, Chris Mustapha Nwaokobia Jnr., the group said the governor’s administration has continued to distinguish itself through visible achievements rather than political rhetoric, arguing that its performance has strengthened public confidence in governance.
According to the statement, the administration has demonstrated that effective leadership is measured by practical results that improve citizens’ welfare and promote inclusive development.
MORE Agenda Highlighted as Development Framework
The group identified the implementation of Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda as the foundation of the administration’s development strategy, noting that it has delivered measurable outcomes across several critical sectors.
It said the programme has recorded progress in infrastructure, healthcare, education, youth empowerment, security and economic development, describing the agenda as a practical roadmap for sustainable growth.
According to the group, development projects have been implemented across Delta State’s three senatorial districts, reflecting an approach aimed at ensuring equitable distribution of government investments.
Infrastructure Projects Receive Recognition
The statement particularly highlighted ongoing road construction and rehabilitation projects, noting that improved transportation infrastructure has enhanced connectivity among communities while supporting commercial and economic activities.
The group argued that investments in roads and other public infrastructure demonstrate the administration’s commitment to inclusive development and improved service delivery.
It maintained that better road networks have contributed to easier movement of people and goods, creating opportunities for economic expansion across different parts of the state.
Healthcare and Education Investments Commended
The group also applauded the administration’s investments in healthcare, citing improvements in hospitals, upgrades of primary healthcare centres and expanded access to medical services.
It further acknowledged government interventions in education, including investments in school infrastructure, bursary awards, scholarship schemes, student loan programmes, skills acquisition initiatives and enhanced funding for state-owned tertiary institutions.
According to the statement, sustained investment in education reflects the administration’s long-term commitment to developing human capital and preparing future generations for productive participation in society.
Youth, Women and Small Businesses Receive Support
The statement further praised programmes targeted at youths, women, entrepreneurs, artisans and small business owners, describing them as strategic initiatives designed to expand economic opportunities and strengthen livelihoods.
It said vocational training, entrepreneurship support and skills acquisition programmes have positioned young people as important stakeholders in Delta State’s development process.
The group also noted that policies promoting women’s economic participation and social inclusion have reinforced efforts to achieve balanced and equitable development.
Call to Sustain Development Initiatives
While commending the administration’s support for security agencies through the Delta State Security Trust Fund, the group also praised what it described as prudent management of public resources and investments in agriculture, rural development and environmental sustainability.
It expressed confidence that sustained commitment to accountability, fiscal discipline and responsive governance would further accelerate development across the state.
According to the group, the governor’s emphasis on performance-driven leadership has begun shaping a lasting legacy of development, urging the administration to maintain its current momentum in delivering projects and public services.
